Good Ties Towards A Stable and Progressive Society

Every nation, if not every person longs for progress. No one wants to be inferior among others. We all want to soar up high and grab our set visions. But in order to get a hold of such manifestation, we need a team to hold on to. Togetherness is a must need for whoever who wants a step forward because two is better than one. When you do a thing solely and you suddenly fall, nobody will be there to give a hand and help you stand up. On the contrary, if you have a team, there would be somebody behind your back to watch over you if ever you made a wrong move.

Stability is a hard thing to obtain. There would be quite a few task to accomplish before saying hello to it. When you think of stability, the word ‘constant’ is everly attached to it. This, when you aim for progress, you also want constancy.

Someday Vacay

The semestral break gave me a feeling of serenity. I was away from the typical board and armchairs I see everyday. It felt right. My body and soul had been longing for refreshment and so the day came. I’m grateful for the given time but I wanted an extension though.

For more than a week of vacation. I stayed mostly at home. Nothings beats the cozy feel of your own abode. The worry-free feeling is something I can never have everyday. For the previous days, I sipped my hot milk every morning, ate my meals, did small chores, slept early and woke up early. That was my routine; But boy, I can say that’s my habit already.

I read two Summit books. There’s no regret in buying the first one (Girl Meets World) ‘cause it was so direct to the point and the scenes were vivid. There was also a slight twist in the end that will make your heart flutter. The second one, I better not say anything about it. It was nicely written but I got bored reading it to the point that I didn’t flipped the page to the end.

My vacation didn’t have a feel to it at all, I must say. Some people would climb up Baguio or Tagaytay for instance. Others would tour somewhere around the corner of the globe. But yours truly, stayed at home and let the cold breeze coming from the window envelope me. I do want to travel. It has always been my dream to travel somewhere I want to be. The things is, I’m broke, technically. And my family though keeps on blabbing ideas on how eager are they visiting who knows where ends just with the planning and doesn’t bother continuing what’s supposed to be done. It is quite disappointing being someone who is gullible. It turns out you’re having false hopes. I know, I know. I am one ambitious child but I promised myself: I’ll be working, I’ll need to save up money so that every year, I can go and take a break somewhere far.

Her Reflection: II

This second quarter, there were a lot of events which became a distraction for our learning. Contests and trainings made the students’ way like a strong typhoon. It’s the peak season for various clubs to set their activities to date. Day after day, we have so many vacant periods. And it lead me to feel as if I don’t want to study anymore. My laziness level rapidly increased. I wanted it just like that like the latter part of my Junior year. It just gave a feeling of relief that I was going to school, doing nothing.

Suddenly, I realized doing nothing is no learning; And laziness means unproductive. I scanned my notes and found out how pitiful my notebooks are begging me to have some time and write on them. The pages of my notebooks dedicated for the second quarter weren’t all filled out. A quarter passed with such a rudimentary knowledge stuck in my mind. Because of the many vacant periods, even if someone’s discussing in front, whether it’s a teacher or a classmate of mine, my ears just won’t listen and my mind wanders somewhere far far away, You can’t blame me. I am… I was trying to focus but I wasn’t able to put blockings on the side of my eyes to keep me from going to the opposite direction.
Well, moving on… I will try again to do my work the best way possible.

Breaking Barriers Through English

Anyone can go beyond a step ahead the ladder when he uses the global language. And if I said anyone, I mean it. To tell you, if a person can communicate well with others using the so called global language, he will have the edge amongst competitors. This isn't a challenge. This is a must for us, Filipinos, to comply for the improvement of the nation we're living in and the individual that we are.

English is a language of the Philippines. We can't deny the fact that we are separated geographically from countries wherein people consider it as their native tongue. But then, the difference isn't just geographically but also economically. As you see, comparing our nation to big English-speaking countries is so not a good idea. Philippines couldn't surpass or even level with other nations when it comes to a lot of fields. Our nation is such a pity; But we can uplift ourselves from being degraded by not only knowing what English is but internalizing it as well. Learning the English language isn't just about nouns, verbs, or adverbs. learning it is being able to apply it in various life situations. It is not about knowing the literature of word but knowing when and where to use it. English is plainly a thing that we must learn to adapt ourselves into.

My Teacher, My Hero

Teachers are amongst people whom I see from a day to day basis. I can't help but wonder why did they chose to walk the path of art of teaching; Didn't they have any other plans other than this? One said, "I could be a doctor now if I didn't practice teaching." Another one said, "I never really planned to land on this job but I wanted change." If love is a sacrifice, wouldn't you agree that teaching is too?

I encountered a lot of teachers since nursery. They have different vibes and attributes but all share the same passion -- teaching. I remember one Math teacher I had. She was so inviting that you can have a casual talk with her. She's one in a million. Another kind, Math teacher came to my rescue when I messed up my face with floor wax while I was cleaning in our classroom. She was the one who took it off. I also remember my advisers who chose me to read the daily gospel in front of the whole grade school department. Another one also asked me to lead a prayer in a quiz bee. And one thing I would never forget is that an English teacher made me read the First Reading in a Friday mass in front of the grade school and college crowd. These are but simple things my teachers did to me and I can already hear some saying, "who cares?" but the mere fact that they made me smile and feel special for even just a short span of time is something to be thankful about. They may have already forgotten my whole being but one thing's for sure. They, my teachers would remain engraved in my heart. If ever I might forget them too, one way or another, time would make me recollect all the past happenings in my life and maybe you'll just find me in the corner of the room smiling out of nowhere.

Unlike superheroes, teachers don't fly around the sky and say, "*insert name*, to the rescue!"; But like superheroes, they save lives and eventually, make people happy. Though majority of the teacher population have terrors, favoritisms, and well... boring ones, there are still those who stand out with their pure heart. Being a teacher doesn't end when the school bell rings. A true one does his job, his advocacy outside the school grounds.

Her Reflection

I entered the school grounds of my school on June for the very first time as a senior student. It feels so great to finally be close to reaching a milestone. On March, probably I'll be going to finish high school but not with flying colors. Oh well.

I got to learn new things lately. Physics sucks but not totally. My skills though not sharpened thoroughly seemed to gain quite something. Free Fall rules. ^^, I also have gained interest in making investigatory projects. Chemistry gave me so much learning compared to last year.

Everything is like always a step ahead of me. It makes me go crazy. It would be good if teachers are just giving lectures but the sad reality is that, they're forcing you to give statements to something you don't mean not to understand. Also, in a certain subject, expect to have a quiz EVERYDAY. Mind-boggling indeed.

When everyone seemed to have turned their backs on me, I try not to think of it. I review at home hoping I can answer the teachers' queries one time.

Moving on, I will continue to face struggles life has given me. What can I do? These are God's plans. I can never resist such. I just need to stand still and follow the straight path.

Sa Pangangalaga ng Wika at Kalikasan, Wagas na Pagmamahal ay Talagang Kailangan

Most of the time, Filipinos tend to forget to give importance to their native language. Yes, they might be using the Filipino language in their daily conversations but as if they don't give worth to it. One of the proof of this is the patronization of people today to international brands -- books, songs, international languages itself... Name them all. Why would man still dare to find for a different flavor if they already have their own to satisfy their taste buds? There are novels sold around the corner in a very affordable price and also the Original Pilipino Music which can be heard anywhere across the country. But then, why are people still craving for pizza over pancit malabon?

Nature though is a different thing with language should also be taken care of. The native language shouldn't be put to trash just because it is the language if your own. If we take a look at the other countries, they put so much of their effort in taking care of their surroundings. They build structures with gardens and trees inside the very establishment. In another country, the people living in the place seem to be a clean freak since you'll not see any unwanted dirt lying in the surface of their place. Won't it be a beauty if we treat our own land like the way they're doing to theirs?

The only key to treating our language and nature right is to give them pure love. Love makes the world go round, doesn't it?

Sa Pagkaing Tama at Sapat, Wastong Timbang ni Baby ang Katapat.

Children, especially infants need THAT extra care and attention from parents with the things they intake. Taking care of a child is not as easy as petting your poodle; When they start to get choosey with food, then they would be even harder to handle.

When asking a child what his favorite meal is, he would say meat; When it's a snack, he'll say junk foods or amaybe a name of a fastfood chain. When you give him something which isn't the apple of his eye, he'll munch a bit, play with it, or stare at it and do nothing at all. This is normal. Every child undergoes this certain period and this can even lead to obesity or malnourishment. During this time, parents are having a hard time on what to do. In a situation like this, parents may want to think of alternative solutions that would make their children eat healthy and right effortlessly.

Milk is a main product that gives almost all the the nutrients a child needs. Letting children drink milk wouldn't harm them bad, would it? Fruits is also one. There are varieties to choose from. This wouldn't be so hard to let them take in since it's heaven with first bite. Balanced diet -- vegetables, meat, rice. It shouldn't be just meat alone 'cause it isn't so good for the health. One cup of rice will do. It has already been suggested by doctors that one cup is the right measurement of the rice people should eat from all age groups. Water. Drink water at least eight glasses a day. It isn't just to quench the thirst you're feeling but it'll also help you prevent dehydration. Children should drink lots of water since they are so hyper, they sweat a lot. They need to cover up the water their body lost.

That will help it do the trick. It is so general but that's what really a person needs to be healthy. Children just need to be well taken care of and given a little push.

Letter to the New President

Dear Mr. President,

Hey P-noy! Sir, I'm not going to ask you how you feel since you were proclaimed the president of the Philippines 'cause I know you feel happy, overwhelmed and yet pressured at the same time; But let me ask you one thing. Are you ready to face people with might? Hypocrites are everywhere. They are always around the corner to criticize you and bring your spirit down. They are rather more harmful than any lion kept in the jungle. So president, beware.

Thin kids with tattered clothes, eyesore -- You've seen all of these, didn't you? You know how Filipinos lived for the past decades and you know how the officials responded to it. Juan dela Cruz has been suffering so much because of poverty and discrimination. We want change. People are already tired of the same stereotype administration. I hope you can find ways to make our country better. The Philippines is surrounded with small but rich countries and I want our country to be like that too. If not, maybe more competitive than what we can offer now.

Mr. President, I am not putting pressure on your part but rather making you know of what we want you to achieve on your six years of governing our country for us Filipinos to reach greater heights. Then again Mr. President, I hope you can do your work well and find time to relax yourself to relax yourself some time. Good luck P-noy.
